If you are looking for a smoth mellow sound these strings are awesome. A lot of deep punch but if you are going for slap bass sound go with the round wound. Either way Rotosound is the way to go

This is a very good flatwound string. I have them on my violin bass and Ric 3000. I would highly recommend them.

I put a set of these on my new jazz bass and it sings!!! Sweet and clear with punch. I only play flatwounds and nylon tapewounds, and I prefer the Rotosound Monels to all others. The thin gauge works out great. They are easier to play fast than other flats. Excellent.

These strings should be on every short scale bass! I can get that Roger Waters sound (mellow) and then get extremely loud and bright! These strings are amazing. I put on the Fender Mustang bass short scale strings on my bass but the sound was just not right. These strings can go from mellow to down right nasty and they are very smooth. These strings are the best period!
