Comments about Protec MAX Tenor Trombone Case:
This case weighs six pounds less than my horn's original case. It is lighter with my horn in it than my old case is empty. I am getting older and have two bad shoulders and this reduced weight is wonderful. I believe my favorite feature is the built shoulder strap system that makes trekking to rehearsals and performances easy. My two biggest concerns pre-purchase were the weight and the protective quality of the case. It provides all the protection I require while remaining very lightweight. The case has no dedicated mouthpice holder so I also purchased a Pro-Tec mounthpiece pouch which fits by large-bore Bach 6 1/2 AL mounthpiece perfectly and also fits the case's interior compartments very well. My one wish for this case is for it to have a handle on the end. I will probably have one made from the shoulder strap that came with my Pro-Tec Trombone Mute Bag (which is also, by the way, wonderful). The construction quality is extremely good and I expect the case to provide years of service.
