I got this pad to help take some stress off of my shoulder. I play a Fender full size bass and this pad is very comfy. It would be nice if the pad had a way to keep it from slipping around on the strap, but all things considered this is the way to go for low price and great performance!

I bought this because my Fender J-Bass was killing my shoulder during gigs. Unfortunately, I really have to squeeze my Fender Patchwork strap to fit in the pad. I am barely able to velcro it. Not to mention, I move around a lot when I play and the shoulder strap doesn't really move around with me. I can understand, though, how this can be a great buy for a lot of people because it really is comfortable. Just make sure it is right for you and your strap.

The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is that it can slide down the strap you're using it with when you're not wearing your instrument, so you have to readjust it everytime you strap on your guitar. I use it with a bass. Once you strap on your bass, the gel pad seems to stay put. The gel pad disperses the pressure/weight from a heavier instrument like a bass and it looks sturdy and great quality. Highly recommend if you're going to be wearing a bass guitar for an hour or more.
