The easy-to-use power crank-up height adjustment system operates with either the removable manual handle or any standard electric or cordless drill. The upper shaft is constructed from extruded aluminum and the gear teeth are milled into the shaft, making it the most affordable solution on the market to cranking up speaker cabinets.

...these are exactly what they were advertised to be. The price is why I chose these stands as I needed to have these PRONTO and didn't have a lot of 'overhead' to work with. They shipped quickly (3-day ground UPS), got here on time, set up was nothing at all except to unbox them and stand 'em up, put the speakers (Mackie SRM450's) on and start cranking. Good company to work with (so far anyway). They have an eBay presence, but their online store is just as convenient. Hope this helps!
