I needed a cheap case for my Washburn M1SDL. This one works nicely, but with barely enough room for the larger-than-normal Washburn head. The case body is wide with a half-inch gap around the mandolin. The height of the case/padding, however, proves to hug the top/bottom/neck of the mandolin, securing it in place.
The exterior is well-made, similar to a standard fabric fiddle case. A full-case zipper keeps everything secure. The straps and handles appear sturdy and ready for a beating. The pockets are decent for small items, but don't expect to carry any amount of gear in this case.
The interior provides plenty of cushioning, but you'll soon notice the "cheap" sound of material breaking and bending behind it. A quick run around the edges with a heavy hand fixes that and also removes the edges. The pocket is too small to hold a pack of strings, but is otherwise handy for smaller items - and it's also cushioned. The pocket door closes fairly securely with no lock or spring.
All in all, I got what I expected. This is a great product for the price range. It's economical, light-weight and attractive. It is a great case to carry around, but I wouldn't want to see it as checked baggage.

There is room in the outer pockets for extra strings, strap, etc. Mine came with removable "backpack" type straps too. The inside cubby-hole has room for picks, pitch pipe, or whatever. Quite nice and very light weight.

This case appears well made and protective. It is too big for our mandolin but we will make due and will keep the case. We had no way of telling that at the time of the order. The pocket will not hold 8X11 papers unless they are folded. That's ok, too. Service was great, the case arrived in first-class shape.

Very pleased with this case - well built, llight and seems to be able to take a beating. I especially like the outside pocket - very handy for carrying spare strings and other gear. The zippered closure is much less fiddly than the flip-type closures on other cases and if you want security you can put your own padlock onto the two zipper rings. I carried this case onto a plane and it fit easily in the overhead compartment. I'd recommend this case and would purchase it again.
