Tremendous Value in a Good Guitar Cable

By FenderGuy53

Comments about Musician's Gear 18.5 foot Instrument Cable:

I love this cable because it has heat shrunk shielding around the cable ends, is heavy duty, is a perfect length and won't kink, either in use or when wrapping.

Good cable for the price, but not the best quality.

Comments about Musician's Gear 18.5 foot Instrument Cable:

The cables themselves are pretty heavy duty compared to other cables I have used. I've had two of these for about 4 or 5 years. Last year, I noticed one of them started cutting in and out when I was playing. It turns out the rubber sleeve arount the wire that connects the tips had been apparently gotten pulled back through wear and tear that the wire itself was making contact with the ground wire. I resoldered it which made it work fine until a few weeks ago. The plugs on the end of these cables do not hold up over time. The tip connector on all 4 ends of the two cables were loose so that they would spin when I unscrew the plug to get to the wiring. One cable stopped working because the tip connector was no longer making contact. I replaced all 4 plugs with Switchcraft 280 1/4" plugs and haven't had any trouble since.
