I recently purchased a dozen of these for my jazz band. The "on-off" switch on two of them literally fell off the first time they were used. One arrived with a burnt out light bulb, but I'll blame that on shipping & not the manufacturer. The second time we used them, two more "on-off" switches fell off.

They also varied in brightness, even though all 12 lights had brand new batteries. The ones that worked were medicore at best, with the light being very focused on one area.

I regret purchasing this product.

I keep one in my case at all times. If you've ever had your light go out in a pit, or played in an outdoor concert at dusk, it's a lifesaver. Will also clip nicely onto a choral folder and provides plenty of light. Also makes a great gift for students!

Battery compartment cover poor design and bad fit.Mine dropped off somehow during a gig and the loss was discovered the next day. Batteries now held in with adhesive tape!

This is a well designed, well built music stand light. It folds up to fit in a gig bag and is tough enough to stay in one piece, bumped around. I've used mine hard and long enough now to both praise it and offer a few tips.An 8.5 x 11 page can be easily read in a black hole for up to 2 hours, using 4 fully charged (Nickel-MH 1.2V 1500 to 2000mAh) rechargeable AA batteries providing 4.8V. The low mAh Nickel-CD rechargables DO NOT last long. If you use new alkaline type 1.5V batteries however, the stock 4.8V 0.3 amp bulbs don't last long, either! Run on 6.0 combined Volts using four 1.5V Alkaline AA's or the AC/6V DC power supply, you'll keep buying replacement bulbs, so you'll do better buying 6.3V 0.25 Amp bulbs (Radio Shack Bulb #46, cost less, too.) They're not quite as bright but they're bright enough - and last a lot longer.So, go with the 4.8V stock bulb if you're using rechargables but use a 6.3V bulb if you're using alkaline AA's or the AC/DC converter.

Nice accessory to supplement available light for those of us with aging eyesight, but is not enough illumination if it's the only source of light. I see others use 2 at a time. Lightweight and compact, but very delicate - especially the bulb. Pack carefully after each use.

This is great for one page of music, but for 2 pages, I find that it doesn't quite give enough light. I would LOVE one that is a little brighter. I have the adapter for mine so I think if they would, please manufacture one that's a little brighter.

A music clip and light in one, does a nice job and will illuminate two sheets enough to see what you need to see. Great for those night outdoor gigs and dark clubs.

What about us Europeans? It gets five stars when I can get an 220-240V adaptor. A great idea, as its light in weight. If you are not sure of the batteries or bulb, buy two! You then have music clips at both ends and full light spread. The only snag is, the left one has to be placed at a slight angle to get even spread of light, because of the swing stop on the lamp stalk. The movement on the stalk though, is too loose if subject to vibration or wear, the lamp could drop while performing. Something which should be further developed along with an adapter that can handle both lamps (110V & 240V). Then it WILL be the best!

I already have of one these lights and am ordering another. They make great gifts. My son uses mine to work on his music not just to play but when he is where there isn't light handy. The batteries last a long time but I use mine so much to read in bed and do crafts that I have bought the adapter. Every kid that has come to our house and sees this light always loves it and wants one. It is better than any toy. You can also get a car adapter for it which has made it handy to use at night while on a trip. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could.
