Comments about Martin M170 80/20 Bronze Round Wound Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I have a few acoustic and semi-hollow body guitars and these strings work on all of them with a sweet crisp sound. Not to much bass not to much treble, just a nice balance sound with good sustain.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Light strings for my Little Martin
Comments about Martin M170 80/20 Bronze Round Wound Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These are my choice for my smallest guitar. The Martin Tres has a unique sound with these strings. I couldn't work the Tres into my music styles, so I strung it with these to give a bright, yet soft sound as a strumming, parlor size instrument. Use a small bar with open G tuning, and it is quite a bit of fun to play.

m170 vs msp4000
Comments about Martin M170 80/20 Bronze Round Wound Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:
Have played 170's for years but store was out so I got msp4000, same gauge. put the 4000's on my d28 and it felt like christmas, literally, I started playing jingle bells. Put the m170's back on. they have a warmer tone by far. The 4000's sounded tinny and was hard to get that martin warm sound we all love. Gonna stick with the 170's. I will say, the 4000's did have a longer sustain
