Orchestral music often doesn't have a steady tempo. You have to be able to see the conductor and your music at the same time. If you are tall and play standing up you need a tall stand. Be aware this is not an all purpose stand, because its minimimum height is about 36" at the bottom of the part that holds the music.

I'm 6'3" tall and play the flute. I was looking for a stand that could use when I stand up to practice. For me this stand works very well. Easy to adjust and heavy enough to stay planted when you need to flip pages of music. Last but not least the price is afforrdable for most everyone. At last some one built a product worth keeping and at a good price.

This is a nice, sturdy stand. The great news is that it is the only stand I could find that is this tall, and not too many resellers carry it!
