Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

I recently installed a Baggs Lyric mic in my main guitar and decided to get the Venue to run that through. I like it, it's built rock solid, easy enough to learn to use and sounds really good. I like that the mids have dual controls, makes it easy to dial those frequencies in/out precisely. The notch filter works great and is very transparent. And contrary to some of the reviews I read online, I really like the tuner. I use it with a Collings dreadnaught and the tuner is just as accurate as my best clip on, and much easier to see. And the volume boost is a killer feature for me! I set it for appx 4 db boost and it's perfect to go from rhythm volume to a lead break. My only critique, and not a deal breaker, is that I wish it was a little smaller and more discrete. I know that eventually some bluegrass festival sound guy is gonna tell me they don't like pickups and there's no stomp boxes in bluegrass!! In all honesty, the Para Acoustic Di probably would work just as well, but I'd buy this one again.
