Comments about Hosa Stereo Y-Cable Mini Male - 2 1/4" Mono Males:
The description of this cable online doesn't say too much but it does on the packaging. I was very pleased to see that they acknowledge this particular cable being used to connect mobile audio devices (like the iPod) to a mixer. Just connect the stereo 1/8" end to your iPod and the RCA's to the mixing board (separate channels) - or in my case on my Mackie 12 Channel, I used the combined channel 11/12 so that I can control the volume with a single volume fader. I bought this after asking a friend who is a professional sound engineer how he typically would run an iPod into a board and this is the way he does it. So far so good - Seems to work fine and the output is better than when i was running the iPod into the "Tape" input. I'd recommend keeping the iPod's volume around 75-80% and using the mixer to control everything else.
