GT-EL-34M XF2 Dual Getter - Matched Duet
Reproduction of a classic EL-34 XF2 Pair Getter tube.
The GT-EL34M was shown at NAMM. This tube is based upon a tube which is considered something of an icon to EL34 users in both the audio world and guitar amp world. There were a number of variants of the original tube and GT chose the classic XF2 dual getter version to reproduce. This tube is now available in matched quads and duets.

These tubes are the XF2 version of EL34s made by Groove Tubes at the Shaugang plant - Yes, they are Chinese! I generally disliked any Chinese tubes because my early experiences with them were that Chinese tubes were total POOP. That was a few years ago, but that opinion changed when I got a quad of these tubes. They sound great and thus far have lived up to the Groove Tube name. The price on them made the quad well worth the price. The only complaint I have is that the tubes are NOT painted as other Groove Tubes - there is a fricken paper sticker with the logo and tube type! That does make them look - well.. made in China. The price to my door is not badfor tubes that were matched at about 4% as a quad.

I have real NOS Mullard EL-34s in my home stereo. I put them in, biased them up to the same current draw as the old ones. These are as so close to the NOS mullards I had, that I packed my NOS mullards away safely for another time. I will surely buy more of these. I cannot think of any guitar amp not getting some great benifets from these tubes. Great tubes

I took a chance on these tubes considering they are russian made EL34s, designed by Aspen Pitman back when he owned Groove Tubes. These are no longer being made and once the stock is gone, it is gone. I swapped the same numbered tubes that had Groove Tubes E34LS(JJ'S) with the GT-EL34Ms and there is a nice difference over the slovakian made tubes. These are more detailed, the highs are softer yet strong, making the E34L-S sound harsh and brittle in the high end. The attention to details in this tube is striking, you are not going to get the real sound of a NOS Mullard but this is as close as you will get. There is so much positve said about JJ's and these EL34-Ms make my amp sound alot better. Great tubes.
