This is a great tailpiece. It allows you to hold your fretted note while adjusting your tuning without having to reach across yourself to get to the headstock. I haven't ever tried to retrofit one of these things, but they fit great on my customs. This is one of about 3 tailpieces I have found that has fine tuners, and factoring in price, looks and function, I like this one the best.

The chrome is fine but the black oxide knurled screws were rusty out of the blister pack.Did not fit my Epiphone SG Special. Had to pull the screw inserts out of the guitar, bore out the holes to 1/2" dia, and hammer in the included new inserts. The chrome body has very little slop for fit so the spacing of the inserts has to be right on. The Epi SG Special was ok after boring out.

Maybe because of its lesser weight (compared with a normal stopbar) the sustain can suffer a bit, but it is a great part for quick and acurate fine tuning between songs. Highly recommendable.

This the greatest bridge for the guitars that are a major pain to tune. When you're always a little sharp or a little flat, this brings it right in to pitch. What is even better, if you go out of tune while your playing, you don't have to reach over the head stock while your holding a chord. You just reach down with your right hand and you have it. I have had one of these on my Flying V for 15yrs and I love it. It paid for itself a hundred times over.
