These strings are great if you play deeper than standard. Be careful if you have a Floyd Rose though, it can alter the tension of the springs. Other than that they rock. They may take a little while to get used to, with the thicker gauges and all, but overall they are great. Very good strings if you play downtuned or in drop-d. Perfect strings for rock or metal.

I bought these strings knowing that they were going to be big, but I was still surprised when I put them on my guitar! They pulled the bridge up, definitely lesson learned on my part. No to get such big strings. I'm sure they sound great, but I'd go look at some if you can before ordering, you might have to file the neck a bit to fit these bad boys in.

awesome

i just got a new pickup put in, and I asked the guy who did it to throw a set of these strings on. The strings are awesome when I pciked my guitar up the guy couldn't stop raving about how great the tone was (acoustically and electrically.) They give a much fuller tone and liven up my playing. The higher strings are still great for leads. I don't think the larger strings are much harder to play; it took me maybe five minutes to get used to them.

The best strings all around

By Sol Asunder

from San Francisco

Comments about GHS Heavyweight Boomers Electric Guitar Strings Light Top:

PRO:They are fat sounding; Unmatched tone from any other string. I only recommend using in a down tuned scheme or your bridge will bow in most cases without an adjustment to your bridge. The high gauge at the top makes the fretboard feel unbalanced at first so make sure you practice on them before playing live! There are strings for a baritone at their finest. I will never play another brand until these are discontinued. They are also CHEAP!!CON:Since they are cheaply produced and not temperature treated, the are only good for one show or two days in the studio. Buy many packs; change often! I have an Ibanez iceman ic300, and they sound beautiful. I play blues and heavy metal. They are not just for downtuning. I use them for standard. The lower strings are nice and warm and boomy. The higher strings are nice and twangy. I felt it was weird to play the d and g string together because of the gauge difference, but you get used to it.

great strings

By jra

from San Angelo tx

Comments about GHS Heavyweight Boomers Electric Guitar Strings Light Top:

I bought these strings so I could put them on my seven string guitar. Then I got a pack of Ernie Balls that where made for 7 and took the 42 gauge out of it to compensate as the A string. so now it is set up from low b to e 60-52-42-36-17-13-10 . I really like the sound of the thicker strings especially on the low b. It seems to have much more body. I would recommend this for someone looking to tighten up the low b so it does not slap around on the neck, or some one who just likes playing lager strings

Comments about GHS Heavyweight Boomers Electric Guitar Strings Light Top:

The strings are great if you tune down a lot. When you get used to them ,it feels odd playing on lighter gauged strings. They sound really good. These strings are great for any kind of music.

I just got these strings yesterday and they are awesome! The sound is great. They're a little harder to play because they're bigger, but you'll get used to them. I would recommend them to anyone.
