This bag is really the only alternative to transporting this head, unless it is rack mounted (why would you want to do that?), or you have a larger case or bag that you would put this in, in which case it would have to be "bubble wrapped" or otherwise additionally protected first.
The bag is not much bigger than the head itself, but it its very well constructed. and the fit is precise. The additional pocket has enough room for the detachable power cord, and two SHORT (6' or less) speakon cables. A long carry strap makes it quite handy and give you both hands free for your lightweight/neo bass cab (no sense buying this head and using with an STV 810, although you could).
I wouldn't have too much confidence in it's protectiveness if dropped from more than a couple feet; there's no shock mount and it's not real thickly padded by any means. Comes with a spacer for the smaller STL300 head. In all I recommend it. A little pricey, but hey, your worth it!

This bag is made for the 6.0 STL.amp,and also the smaller 3.0 amp.The 6.0 (as I have) slides right in to place,while inserts are provided for the 3.0 to provide a "snug" fit. The zippered conpartment on the side or top (whichever you want to call it) is the perfect place for the power cable,your amp to cab cable and can probably squeeze your instrument cable in,also.Just a great bag to protect a great little amp that I would certainly recommend to anyone.
