A whole new take on capo design that works beautifully.
The G7th Performance Guitar Capo is designed for enhanced performance and it's simple to use. Not only that, it looks and feels great! Push the lever to release the arms. The G7th Capo fits snugly behind the fret. Squeeze to tighten it from above or below. Simply press the lever to release the capo.
The wrap spring clutch consists of just 3 elements: a fixed hub, a moving hub, and a spring whose inside diameter is just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the 2 hubs. When the spring is forced over the 2 hubs, attempting to rotate in the direction which opens the capo wraps it down tightly on the hubs, positively engaging them.
Rotation in the other direction, to tighten the G7th Capo onto the strings, is not restricted. To release the capo, the control tang is moved in the direction to unwind the spring, thus releasing the clutch.
The beauty of this type of clutch for use in a guitar capo is that it can be adjusted in tiny increments. The clutch mechanism is a modified tried-and-tested design used in printers and copiers to provide a simple decoupling and overrun device.

It's a great capo feeling solid and firm. A pity though that I dropped it only once and the release knob which is made out of plastic immediately broke. The price is way too high actually...Read complete review

G7th Capo? Yes, please!
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
I asked for, and recieved this capo for Christmas, and have immensly enjoyed it ever since. Very solidly built, and if strings buzz, just clamp it down a little harder. It is the best capo I've used for anything capo'd at above the fourth fret. Less than the fourth, I'd prefer my Dunlop, though. If I only had one capo, it'd have to be the G7th. The Dunlop is a touch faster, I'll give 'em that, but the G7th doesn't pull the guitar out of tune. The ability to adjust it for every fret, and not take three minutes to do it is a huge selling point for me. If lost or stolen, I'd cry, then replace it.

Best Capo for Staying in Tune
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
I primarily play electric guitar these days and have always been anti-capo when it comes to the electric. I have a bunch of capos and often avoided using them because of tuning problems in a live situation. I just bought one of these and checked it against all of my others with a tuner and it is the absolute closest at keeping the guitar in tune and properly fretting the strings. It is also very easy to get on and off the neck. It is expensive for a capo but at least I'll use it. I expect it will open up new tonal doors for me. Every once in awhile a great well thought out piece of gear comes along... this is one of them.

not so good
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
In spite of all the hype and the big price tag, I just don't care for it. It's made of cheap materials (potmetal and plastic) and feels clunky to use. I get just as many tuning problems from this capo as with some others, so into the drawer it goes.

G7th Capo
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
Wow! I was a little put off by the price, but now that I have used this G7th capo, I am sold. Do yourself a favor and get one. Yes it's a little silly spending this much, but it is totally worth it. Plus it looks really good on the guitar, and I have not had to re-tune my guitar after a real nice jam session. It' just slips on and stays right where you put it. Very happy, great product!!!!

Great product, high price
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
The G7th Capo is an excellent product. Great for live performances and home playing. I bought the capo, because mine was broke and I dont regret it. It is very easy to use and works better than any other capo. The only negative side is the price.

Easier than most
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
It is so easy to use, there is no screwing in ten thousand screws like some other capo's. I found that it is a very quick change if you are in a concert setting.

LOVE IT!
Comments about G7th 405 Performance Guitar Capo:
By far the best capo I have used. (and I have tried a lot!) The mechanism inside this thing is EXTREMELY sensitive and accurate. There is absolutely NO "play". When you lock it into position, it STAYS there. I'm not really sure how they are doing this (I thought that it might be some kind of super fine ratchet system, but the degree of adjustment is so precise, that I don't think that is how they are doing it). Anyway, I don't really care HOW it's done! A little pricey, but like a good pen, or an expensive pair of sunglasses, I always seem to remember where this thing is, as I would hate to lose it! Unlike the other reviewer, I did not have a problem with my 12 string, but I used VERY light strings on my 12 string (a Takamine). Also, I read on a message board that G 7th will be coming out with a model specifically for 12 string users some time in the future.
