I bought these after buying a Geddy Lee J-Bass & hearing what they sounded like. After installing these on my Mexican made J-Basses the sounded identical to the Geddy Lee--100% better over the stock pickups. WARNING!!!!! If you are buying these to replace the stock pickups in a Mexican J, be prepared to trim the pickguard & rout the body a tad bit because these P/Us are a tad bit longer than the Mex ones
