My 40th anniversary Fender Stratocaster was getting old and the 5-way switch wasn't working as it used to, so I ordered this item hoping it would solve the problem. Once properly installed, my wish came true better than I anticipated. Not only does the switch work perfectly, but there is no buzzing of any kind - whether you're using a single coil or a combo - there was no difference in clarity. Prior to the installation of this item, my strat always buzzed when you used a single coil setting (treble, mid-range, and bass only). Now, there is no buzzing whatsoever. Awesome!

Well, this is what it is...a switch. Having said that, it IS the best possible switch for a Strat. Very solid, and easy to get it in the right position on the fly. I did my own install...not hard, but you do have to take your time and get it right. My Strat actually sounds better now--like anything in your signal chain, you don't realize how it is affecting your sound until you change it. If your 5-way is getting scratchy or you have to "wiggle" it to get a good contact, you really owe it to yourself to change it out. When you do, use a genuine Fender switch...you'll be glad you did.

This is an exact Fender replacement switch. Solidly build - not a cheapy model. I use these on all my guitar projects. I tried using ones from other companies but had problems with the swich tips not making contact and having to bend them to get them to work. These work all the time - every time. So if you are building an electric guitar or just need to replace a work or scratchy switch on you Strat or Strat copy - get this 5 way switch! You won't regret it!
