Stronger so they last longer.
Ernie Ball 2240 RPS 10 strings are reinforced versions of the standard Slinky electric guitar strings. A patented winding of bronze wire is tightly wrapped around the lock twist of the ball end. String slippage and breakage are minimized at the ball end where these most often occur. RPS strings last longer and stay in tune better than conventional plain strings. Used on electric and acoustic guitars but, not classical guitars.
All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.
Ernie Ball is the pioneer of rock and roll guitar strings. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, and Slash are among the long list of Slinky players.
You'll definitely feel and hear the difference. Order today.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
I think the title says it all. But let me preface by saying that I bought into the coated string "hype" for a while, tried the "alchemists' special mystery blend moon metal" strings, and have played probably 95% of the many different brands and flavors of electric guitar strings on the market in my 17 years as a musician. These Ernie Ball RPS Strings are now the only strings I even think about using ever.........ever. I don't abuse my guitars, but I am an active gigging and recording semi-pro musician/songwriter and spend at least 2-6 hours of every day giving my axes a proper workout. I have a heavy pick attack, a strong vibrato left hand technique, and sweaty fingers. And these strings just keep on keeping on no matter what the style, the weather, or the set-list. I just wind my Ernie Ball RPS Regular Slinkys on, tune them up, give them a good stretching, tune up again, and wail away for weeks. I haven't broken one yet (not even a G string). They stay in tune perfectly once broken in and keep good intonation even after weeks of playing. They have not rusted or tarnished despite being drenched in sweat and sometimes alcoholic beverages. And they retain their clarity, brightness, and bite beautifully. If you are like me and don't like changing strings weekly or bi weekly, or if you just can't afford to, these are the perfect strings for you. They last, the price is perfect, and they sound amazing. I won't pay twice as much or more for buzzword hyped up strings anymore. Ernie Ball RPS strings are the only strings I strum.
