The string that's made for modern guitar.

Regular Slinky Electric Strings are Ernie Ball's top-selling set and are favored by many musicians around the globe. Regular Slinky wound strings are made from a nickel-plated, steel wire wrapped around a hex-shaped, steel core wire. The plain strings are made of specially tempered, tin-plated, high-carbon steel, producing a well-balanced tone for your guitar.

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.

These strings are played by all the best guitarists (or at least it says so on the package.) Well, that hardly matters, because the professionals change their strings EVERY DAY. these strings are awful for the following reasons: (a)extremely prone to corrosion (b)not at all smooth feeling strings (c)below average tone (d)prone to breakage. After I string my guitars and stretch the new strings, these are ready to come off. I change strings, weekly, IF NOT MORE. I will not play these unless I absolutely have to. There is simply no reason to.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I had to replace the worn and corroded strings on a old Harmony. Now I have it in tune and the fun part begins. Practice X's millions.

    Mellow tone.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I have used the the 2221's for several years now on my Les Paul.
They have a smooth, warm and round sound. Very nice with humbuckers or to mellow out a bright sounding guitar.
Nickel is softer than steel and therefore, is softer sounding. It is softer on your frets too and doesnt wear down the steel as fast as steel strings will.
Because it doesnt rust like steel, though it does tarnish and dull over time, it tends to retain a good tone even after several weeks.
All in all, a very good string choice.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

The makers of Ernie Ball Electric Guitar strings come with the finest quality and if it was the money at the bank there would be a double in bank robberies, literally. Yes they are cheap (Very Cheap) and they will last for what is about a year. Depends on how long you smash on these Ernie Ball's. So if you want what's the best use Ernie Ball Electric Guitar Strings. (They range from 9 to 46)

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I really loved these! it is very hard to break even the high e string. They stay in tune very well. I recommend these for everyone. The pair I have now have been on my guitar for about 3 months(sadly) and they are just starting to get old.

I have tried many brands and these are my favorite, I prefer them over even elixir, and for the price I can get 4 sets of these for 1 set of elixir, great tone and sustain, I use a black beauty Les Paul and they work wonders, I mean come on, if it weren't for strings, we wouldn't be able to play, and I play with these, your choice but there best best strings out there.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I have tried tons of strings, and Ernie Ball strings have the best sound out there. The sound is very penetrating, so everything you play stands out. They also have a fairly long life. My only complaint is that they don't feel as smooth as other strings, but they are easy to get used to.
