Slinky strings ideal for rock or blues.

Ernie Ball Power Slinky Electric Strings are a perfect match for those who like chunky rhythms for rock 'n' roll or for blues. Power Slinky strings have long been favored by Slash, Metallica, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd due to their thicker gauge combination, providing a slightly more powerful tone.

Power Slinky wound strings are made from nickel-plated, steel wire wrapped around a hex-shaped steel core wire. Power Slinky plain strings are made of specially tempered, tin-plated, high-carbon steel, producing a well-balanced tone for your guitar.

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.

Ernie Ball is a pioneer of rock and roll guitar strings. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, and Slash are among the long list of Slinky players.

Gauges: 11-14-18-28-38-48.

The time to realize you should have bought a pile of strings is not when you're onstage. Order now and rest easy.

AWESOME!

By Dano

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

WOW - I've now played on these strings in two gigs and what an improvement in my overall sound! The playability of these are GREAT! I can bang away at them and they stay in tune consistently. I've now put them on all of my git-fiddles, and am definitely converted to playing on these strings!

Love 'em

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

Been using Power Slinkys for a long time now and love the tone and durability. They sound great on solid-bodies, semi-hollow, and hollow body guitars; you can't go wrong. I pick them up in bulk every time they go on sale.

good strings for a backup guitarist or one who doesnt solo

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

These are good strings if you want a fat sound for your guitar. They are very durable but they are almost harder to bend than acoustic strings. If you are looking for strings that will last long, keep their tone, but are hard to bend get these. If you are looking for strings that last long but are easier to bend, I recommend the rps 10 by ernie ball.

The best strings in the biz!

By Max Sadowski-arwQ.

from LakeWorth, FL

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

When I was only a year practicing guitar one very horrible incident happened... I broke my E String on my Guitar!!! I panicked! I didn't know what to get and what confused me was strings came in various sizes!!! After a while I researched strings and decided to buy gauge 11-48... Which lead me to getting Ernie Ball Power Slinky Strings... Man did those strings rock!!! They stayed on my guitar for a good six or seven months... I also recommend that you try the Ernie Ball RPS series those are strong strings!!!

Comfortable and long-lasting. Awesome!

By JPN

from Athens, Hellas

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been using EBs since day one. About one year ago I felt like 10s were not heavy enough for me, so I switched to 11s. They are really long-lasting, which helps a lot with sb's tone, even with inexpensive pickups. When I installed Gibson Burstbuckers #1 & #2 (on an Epi G-400), EB 11s really found their way out of my amp's speakers. I guess these may sound quite subjective, but there has been no reason for me to try other brands since I can't complain about uncle Ernie...

Best all around string I've found

By Keith-y822n

from Bellingham, WA

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

Although I like the tone of the Gibson 11's just a little bit more, these seem much more durable. I still break 'em all the damn time, but not quite as frequently as the other brand mentioned. Sometimes I wish they felt a bit more heavy gauge, especially on bends, but I can't stand the boomy sound of all the 12s I've tried... oh well.

great strings, hands down

By WiKiD

from toronto

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

Just like the name says, they're amazing for power chords, or distortion chords in general, and are my favorite strings. The tone will last forever. One thing I should say though is that if you are looking for extremely bendable strings, you should look into getting the Ernie Ball Regular's instead, as when it comes to solos and bending, the Power's are to a little bit too stiff, and sustain could be better with a lighter gauge... I'm not saying that you can't do that with the Power's, I'm just saying that you can do it better with the lighter strings.

very rockers strings

By slipknot1

from gulf shores,alabama

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I thought I would get these because I went to a slipknot concert and Mick Thompson and Jim root gave me some sets of strings (I had backstage passes) and these are what they used. I thought I would try them and I will not use any other strings on my guitar ever again!

wowzers

By harry

from guam

Comments about Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

This string is the best... I love it! It really brings out the heavy sound. Good for people that like grunge or metal music. Down side... it's kinda hard to do solos because of the weight. (but it sounds nice)
