I bought these to try and toughen up the sound out of my Kramer. It worked to, these strings can be bluesy, jazzy, and especially hard. They take a lot of abuse too, so if you are looking for some good strings that'll take the beatings you hand out and sound good while doing it, give these a try.

Best strings ever!!
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
I've always used EB's. Used to use Super Slinkys. Then our band decided to tune down to D. Way to floppy with the 9's..so I thought I would check these out. I fell in love. They give you the chug for the rhythm on the heavy strings, but soloing is still easy. Perfect combination. I won't use anything else.

Learn from people that have been around the block!
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
Its taken me 20 years to find the perfect strings. I hope to save you some time? Learn from people that have been around the block! They are perfect for great rhythm guitar yet still light enough for lead work! Best of both worlds! I use to break up packs of strings to get what I wanted. No more thanks to these babys! By a whole bunch of them (I always have at least five sets on hand!) and change your strings after every 4 hours of playing. These are great strings and they are inexpensive too!

Best Strings for Metal
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
I use these strings for my Hardcore/Metal band. The strings are great for de-tuning down to a Drop - C and they won't rattle. They give me a great heavy sound, I don't like the feel on the top 3 strings though. Use these strings are heavy stuff, but if you want to Shred as well don't use these. Either way, I still use these!

good for metal
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
These strings are great for people like me that are into heavy rock and metal. The low strings can really create that rumbling riff you want, and the high strings bite through the air when you solo.

AMAZING!!!!!!
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
I play a 22.5" scale Fender Duosonic...these strings are perfect for maintaining tone/tuning on short scale guitars and still allowing for lead work. Last a while too. Great strings.

Awesome strings, espec on hollowbody
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
I own a Gibson 1952 L-48 (which used to be my grandpa's), a full hollowbody with one p-90 pickup. These strings rock! Acoustic guitars usually have thicker strings and these are brilliant for bridging the gap. The top 3 are just right for soloing, and the bottom strings are bassy enough to balance out big chords. And they respond to the p-90 like there's no tomorrow. Screw flatwounds, I'm just gonna play my jazz on these babies!

Pretty Good
Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:
I just got these strings. I used to use Hybrid Slinkys(9-46). These strings were good but when I tuned them down there was too much slack. So I tried the Thick and Thins and I like them. They sound really good. The only thing I don't like about them is when in standard tuning they are a little hard to bend, but that's something I just have to get used to I guess. However they are magnificent for Eb, D, C#, and C tunings. If you mainly intend to low tune your guitar these are great and if you switch tunings often and you only have one guitar these do the trick.
