I, like most musicians, have used a wide variety of strings by different companies. D'addario, Martin, GHS and tons of others. The Earthwoods have 3 things most other strings I have used lack. 1) Longevity - they sound VERY good for a LONG time. 2) Definition - I notice a greater seperation of string sound while strumming chords both hard and soft (I am a heavy strummer) 3) Shimmer & brialliance of tone - This is the BIGGEST difference I hear. These strings have a definite brialliant tone unlike any other strings I have ever heard. When replacing OLD Earthwood's with new strings by other manufacturers - the new strings lack oomph and often don't sound as good as the ones they just replaced. I am sold on these strings!!

I tried these for the first time and fell in love with the sound. Put these on a alveraz and a martin clone and the guitars came alive. I have been playing guitar for 20 years and never used ernie ball strings. I love the 80/20 medium light.

These took forever to stay in tune and the intonation that was once perfect on my guitar was never really right with these strings. I suggest getting something else like D'Addarios.
