I paired up a 60-7x in the Neck with a 81-7x in the bridge position on an Ibanez RGA7 to get rid of the not so great stock pickups. The 60-7x unlike other active pickups have a great balance of tone and output. The X-Series from EMG really is the bridge between a passive and active pickup. This 60-7x in the neck position gives me the dynamic range that a passive pickup delivers best yet the active circuitry gives you that much needed output without compromise.
