I used to swear by these strings for my acoustic based on the sound. Oxidized strings sound 'muddy' whereas the nanoweb preserves that fresh bright sound I'm looking for. However, every set of Elixirs I've owned has eventually broken a string at the bridge. I used to think I simply played them so much longer than other strings that breaking was inevitable. Unfortunately, I noticed sometimes they would break after 2 or 3 months of light use at inopportune times, like during a live performance. The final straw was when I put completely new Elixir strings on my guitar Friday night for a performance on Saturday night. On the first song a string snaps at the bridge!!! Embarrassing! Not even strung for 24 hrs! Previously, I had never noticed this problem on my guitar until I started using Elixirs. I haven't broke a string since with either Dean Markely or Martin Marquis. So I know for a fact it is not my guitar's bridge, which doesn't even have a pointy profile... it is rounded. As nice sounding as Elixirs are, I simply cannot trust them for anything that matters, like live performances.

wow. these are the best strings i have ever used. I am not considering switching to anything else. the elixirs have a bright vibrant sound and they nanoweb coated. These strings have an amazing sound and feel great on your fingers. Totally worth the price.
