The Electro-Harmonix 6L6EH Power Tube is modeled after the vintage RCA 6L6GC "blackplate." Features large plate dimensions and improved grid structure for increased power handling capabilities. Also features mica spacers with metal springs to eliminate tube rattle and microphonics. The 6L6EH offers tone and performance superior to any other 6L6 or KT66 type.

These are Electro-Harmonix 6L6EHs in platinum matched sets. Their platinum matching process consists of a 24-hour tube burn-in period followed by a bias (plate) current measurement in milliamps.

not durable

Comments about Electro-Harmonix 6L6 Matched Power Tubes:

I only had these for 3 months and they got all crackley and poppy. Rebiased the amp(Fender HRD) from the start and I admit these tubes do sound nice, but I expected more longevity especially since the amp never left the room. They were a little blue gassy from the start so maybe that's a bad sign.

Russians get it right

By Martin Hansen

Comments about Electro-Harmonix 6L6 Matched Power Tubes:

These are Russian made tubes, excellent quality, durability, and tone. Very similar in appearance to the old Sovtecs. I bought a "hard" quad and duet to replace the six original RCAs in my '81 Fender Studio Bass amp. Increased headroom by about 30%. Cleaner, more defined, and wider tonal range than original RCAs and really brings out the classic tone of my 73 precision. I did not rebias the amp -- only one gig with these so far and no issues -- they seem to run cooler in temperature than the RCAs (?). Terrific tone -- exactly what I was looking for.
