I have narrowed my search for a good pick down to Dunlop for their shape and consistency. The purple .71 tortex have a special coating to stay sticky when your fingers are wet but if your fingers don't stay wet enough they are slippery.

The signature gels work exceptionally well in both m-t and m but I prefer these for an overall use pick and choose them when I am not in a dedicated rhythm or blues picking session.

I have been using Dunlops after narrowing it down to this being the best brand for me, I hav ete specials in thin/medium (green-best for just strumming ot playing quietly) and the mediums (purple-second favorite) and the tortoise shell mediums .71 (light purple-prefect weight but they are too slippery unlesss your hands stay wet/moist)...but these are the best all around!

They dont slip, the weight is perfect and they play smoothly!

I've always use dunlop picks,I think they've done alot of R&D over the last 2 decades on what really works for guitar players and they got alot to choose from. I was using the Dunlop Tortex ,73mm for a lomg time which was the yellow color. It works perfect for me,the only cons on that one is that when you first hold it,it still slips until your fingers develop a little sweat during jam time. But this Black .73mm Tortex is a little bit more superior,I get all the great stuff that the yellow .73mm Tortex can offer but more extra grip right when you pick it up and play the first note. Buy this kind if you dont mind black color,just choose your favorite gauge.

I have been using the regular Tortex .50mm for two years and just ordered some of these.
I don't know why, but these feel better to me. The first thing I noticed was the color is a little darker than in the picture. And then I picked up my guitar and started playing. No slick feel.
The regular Tortex are super picks but I always have to wet my finger tips to hang on to them until they wear in a little. Not so with these.
Same great tortoise shell sound and booming volume but without the risk of them flying across the room and putting somebody's eye out.
Guitar playing just got a little safer for us all. Good work, Dunlop.

I have used fender picks before trying these. dunlop picks blow the fender picks away. I have never had one slip out of my hand yet.

I've loved the .88 Tortex picks for years, but hated the bright green color. Now they're black and silver - what's not to love? They're perfect! Thanks, Dunlop. I hope these aren't just a limited edition or something like that...
