The sound is loud and warm.

Gauges 12, 16, 24, 32, 42, 54.

Rare Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Strings are a departure from the standard, good quality bronze string currently available -- not necessarily better, but possessing a new, different, and stronger voice. Hand-carved archtops, dreadnoughts, and good steel string acoustic guitars of rosewood, maple, and mahogany benefit from a distinct improvement in tone, depth, and sustain with a fatter, louder sound and a deeper bottom.

Comments about DR Strings RPM-12 RARE Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Like most people I've experimented with every string type out there and never found one that stood out until these DR'S. They have a warm sound and a warm feel to me and they last a long time.

    My second favorite strings

    By Eric-MXhwO

Comments about DR Strings RPM-12 RARE Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I tried these for about 2 months. They have a nice medium-bright tone and maintained their output right to the end. Single note runs rang out nicely and with nuance. However, they are fairly stiff and tough on the fingers (on both the fretting and picking hands). They didn't bend and barre all that well. I think they are best suited for a dreadnaught guitar while strumming open chords and playing single notes with a pick. For my grand concert bodied guitar and musical preferences, I'm much happier with the DR Sunbeams.

    Best sounding strings available

    By Bill Friggle

    from Denver, PA

Comments about DR Strings RPM-12 RARE Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Best sounding strings on all the guitars I have tried them on. I buy a bunch of strings each time I get a new guitar to find the best for that guitar. It always end up being DR Rares. And they last. I have found good sounding strings but they last a couple of days at best. But I had these on my guitar for over a month and they still sounded good. And I play hard. They hold up.
