Rich tone and great sustain!

Gauges 10-13-17-26-36-46.
Pure Blues electric guitar strings from DR Strings are designed with pure nickel wrap wire, roundwound upon round cores. While this is a slow, expensive method of string making, it does produce a guitar string acclaimed for increased sustain, vintage tone, and great low tones for playing music from rhythm to lead. The extra step of winding pure nickel around a round core give Pure Blues strings a punch that players say they are surprised to get in a vintage electric guitar string. Sounds great on any guitar!

THIS is what I had in mind

Comments about DR Strings PHR10 Pure Blues Nickel Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Someone recommended that I buy Ernie Ball Extra Slinky (or was it beefy slinky?) 11-54s to get a nice blues sound out of my Epiphone Les Paul. I listened. Bad idea. It was not the sound I was looking for at all. Yes the sound was thick, but I feel they were more suited to rock than they were to blues. I wanted something a little easier on the fingers (not a big issue, but a nice plus), something a bit cleaner, and something with a little more character. Enter the DR 10-46. This is what I was looking for. These strings sound absolutely fantastic. I play out of a Traynor YCV80, and, though I mainly play the clean channel with a few effects plugged in, where I found that these strings shined MOST was when I played my guitar straight through the amp (no effects), into the dirty channel, with a slight bit of gain, just enough to deliver a little bit of crunch and substance. With the tone dialed out on both my bridge and neck pickups, and the treble and volumes pushed up on the amp, these strings sound absolutely wonderful. I think with the set up that I currently have, I wouldn't choose any other strings to get that old school blues sound out of my guitar. I'm very happy I bought two sets of these instead of just one, and when they are worn out, I'm just going to go out and buy a bunch more. I highly recommend them if you're looking for an "older" tone for your guitar!

Handmade From the Heart

Comments about DR Strings PHR10 Pure Blues Nickel Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I owned my Gibson for many years not knowing about the DR Strings. By the time I learned of the DRs it was time to purchase another guitar. For the last seven years I have used DR Strings on my PRS Guitar. I used the 9 guage at first then tried the 10. I find that I like the 10 better, but both of them are superb. I don't think I will ever change to a different brand name. These handmade, long sustaining, warm, bright and long lasting strings give me the sound and easy playing that I need to cativate the hearts of my Gospel, Blues and many other type audiences. I have been in the music busines since the early 60s; these DRs are the best I've ever used. Thank you DR for BUILDING such a great string for the professionals.
