Expands the tonal range of your P Bass.

Each half of the unique, double blade DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass is a complete humbucker. The Split P pickup is EQd to expand the range of your bass by extending both low- and high-end response -- a great way to get a broader contemporary sound from mid-rangy, one-pickup-in-the-middle basses. The DiMarzio DP127's double-blade design adds snap for crisp attack and emphasizes cool overtones for big, smooth tone. Blade pole pieces also make the Split P very sensitive to finger and pick attack. Notes seem to ring louder, especially in the upper registers, as the pickup hears the decaying note practically down to a whisper.

Features

Great bottom end addition to a Jazz Bass converted to a P/J

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

This was used on a FSR Two pice Ash Jazz bass fitted with Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pups. I routed the body to accept the precision pup layout and placed a Fender Aerodyne Jazz pickguard to accomidate the black Split P. Both side (E&A, D&G) of this pup have to be parallel wired as do the coils of the bridge Ultra Jazz in order to get away from phase problems when combining the pups. Just use the dual hum parallel schematic diagram from the dimarzio website if using the split P in combo with another pup. The transformation going from the ultra Jazz neck to the Split P is dramatic in terms of rumble and warmth. Still this pickup has great top end which is enhanced with a little Jazz bridge mixed in. I wired the Split P with a 500kA pot and used a 250KA for the bridge Ultra Jazz and then a 500KL for the tone pot using an orange drop 47 capacitor. I could not be more pleased. Pickup install looks factory OEM and the blades of the Spli-P in the BWB Fender Aerodyne p-guard gives the bass a decidedly aggressive look. Music123 gave me a great deal on this purchase and shipped across the country extremly fast. I will always check M123 when looking for gear-BRAVO Mucic123!!

One intense sound

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

I installed the DiMarzio DP127 split and a Bartolini 9JL1 into my old Jackson bass. What the DiMarzio's lack in intensity and sheer throat the Bartolini picked up. On the other side, what the Bartolini lacked in range, the DiMarzio's more than made up for.The combination makes for one intense sound. Better than any other I've heard or played. My Jackson may not be as nice to look at, but it had more range, clarity, and an other worldly growl to it. I'll never go with any other pickup combination again. Period.
