I also didn't originally buy into the cryogenic hoopla, I thought "They got cold, wow...", but the sub zero treatment makes these have a bright tone and long life, for only a dollar more than the Ernie Balls that everyone buys you could got two or three extra weeks without having to go through the hassle of changing strings.

These regular strings have really bright tone and sound great with my SG, but as far durability goes, there're more durable strings out there. I'm a normal player so I don't abuse my strings, but two of these strings popped within a month of playing. But it does sounds cooler to say you have blue steel strings. All in all, this isn't a bad choice if you'd rather have brighter tone and less durability.

Good feel that lasts...
Comments about Dean Markley 2556 Blue Steel Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:
Very sturdy and comfortable... I seem to have to change these strings MUCH less often than any other brand I've tried.

If you want the best tone ever, look no further...
Comments about Dean Markley 2556 Blue Steel Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:
I tried d'addario's and elixir strings but these ones rock the house. They have a very bright and "alive" tone and they have a great feel. It just feels right when sliding and bending. But I did break a B string after about a month of playing with them. Make sure you have a spare pack just in case you break any strings. All in all they are the best among those 3 brands.

Blue Steel-Keep your cool
Comments about Dean Markley 2556 Blue Steel Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:
I have used these strings for quite a while. I've tried countless others but as far as I'm concerned, these strings are worth the price and they last pretty long. Ernie Ball's rust way too fast and D'addario's break easily. One close competitor, for Blue Steel's, may be GHS Boomers. The Boomer's lasted pretty long and sound great, but The Blue Steel's just straight up sounded better and just had better tone. Blue Steel strings are what's on my guitar right now. That's what's going to be on them for the rest of my life, I guess.

I'm hooked
Comments about Dean Markley 2556 Blue Steel Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:
Man, these strings are awesome! From the first bar of music that I played with these on, I knew they weren't kidding about them having twice the tone. They also bend very easily and smoothly, almost like 9's (I use REG 10's), which I got used to pretty quickly, like any good thing. They do last longer than ordinary strings, but I wouldn't say twice as long. The rich tone is their main feature, in my opinion.

Excellent strings that feel great and sound good
Comments about Dean Markley 2556 Blue Steel Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:
These strings feel great and have just the right amount of "attack." I've played on about 5 different types of strings so far and I find the Blue Steel strings to be the best. I bought the regular size (REG 10-46 {.010-.046}), which truly is about the average size of stock strings on a new guitar, Normally they're easy to fret. The strings come packaged in a fool-proof, small box with each individual string inside a paper envelope labeled "1st - E" through "6th - E" I'm definitely going to keep a supply of Blue Steel strings in my studio from now on.

Brilliant and Bright!!
Comments about Dean Markley 2556 Blue Steel Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:
Love these strings! They last long and put up with alot of abuse. And the sound......just amazing! I love playing on these with my Washburn electric without it plugged in - it sounds like a harp. I have used nothing else for the last 4 years and buy em' in bulk.
