Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

I recently bought a Washburn Acoustic. I have owned 30-40 guitars in my 40 years of playing. I have found that if I spend a lot on a guitar and the itch comes up I sell it. But the one guitar I have held on to is my Mexican Tele that cost me $300 ten or fifteen years ago. I love the guitar, I swapped out the electronics and it feels and plays great. (almost as good as the Tele I owned in the mid 70's) The only reason I still have the Mexican Tele is because I couldnt get anything for it in trade. So I thought this Washburn had that kinda potential. It's got high quality features, Solid Alaskan Sitka Spruce Top, Tamo Ash back and sides, Mahogany neck, neck and headstock binding, and Rosewood finger board. But the tuners were of low quality, no problem, put on some Grovers, and the pins were also of very low quality, and the holes were uneven (whadda ya expect for $300?) So I bought these pins, but not the one's pictured, mine had an abalone inlay with a flat round top. The abalone is dull and not very pretty looking, but the metal pin was of a good weight and quality and the key for me was that these pins fit PERFECTLY! They compensated well for the uneven sizing of the holes, and they grip the strings great. They will be MUCH easier to remove and put back in, no peg puller needed, no worries about scratching the bridge trying to get the old pegs out. The guitar sounds better too. Now I have a "cheap" guitar with some modest upgrades that sounds and looks great. Sure it's not a $3,000 Taylor, but I would have eventually sold the Taylor anyway. This guitar has very little trade value so it will go along side that Mexican Tele that I will never sell either. Buy these pins, they are worth the upgrade and cost...

Fast shipping and a great product

      By Martin

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

So basicallly I needed something to give my acoustic a litle extra brightness and these pins certainly did the trick. Now my guitar sounds clear and crispy instead of overly warm and dull. I also read some negative reviews about the company but I just want set the record straight and say that they are not true. I got my shipment a day or two before the due date and exactly what I ordered. Overall a good transaction and a great product.

      Nice Upgrade

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

Overall these pins were a nice (cheap) upgrade for my Martin. They were more difficult for me to get to stay when I was installing them, but they have not come loose or anything since. They are super solid and look better than plastic pins. They certainly improve the tone of the guitar.

Definitely improves sound, but get the ball shaped ones

      By JT-MgA3H

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

These definitely improve the sound of the guitar (by using more dense materials, all the sound travels down through the string better.) But I was woo'd by the looks of the round flat ones, and ya have to use a pliers on them to get them out when you change strings, so ... suggest getting the ball-shaped ones, which can be pulled out be regular means, same as any other peg.

      The best upgrade I've found

      By David Coble

      from Olympia, WA

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

I don't normally review products but I had to chime in on this one. I'm like many folks, looking for "upgrades" that'll improve the sound of my guitars. I've added bone nuts and saddles to my cheaper guitars and yes, there is a subtle improvement--however I never gave much thought to bridge pins...My most recent gitfiddle is an Epiphone Masterbilt jumbo acoustic/electric (AJ500RE). It came with Gotoh tuners, a compensated bone saddle and bone nut, and Micarta (plastic) bridge pins. Rather than spending $30 on bone or ebony replacement pins (the difference if any is very subtle) I took a shot in the dark and bought the D'Andrea brass pins, which I had never tried. With the metal pins the improvement is more than subtle--the sustain, intonation and attack improved substantially on an already excellent guitar. They also improved the fidelity of the dual acoustic pickups (piezo/magnetic). It makes sense--pins are just retainers and you won't hear much difference between softer materials such as plastic, wood or bone. Metal pins, however, really anchor the strings to the body and transmit the resonance to the top. I bought the basic brass set with knurled tops because I hate round-top stuck pins I have to pry out. They're worth 13 bucks for that reason alone. Whether you like the difference or not is subjective, but these will make your guitar sound different. Don't think twice, try them out..

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

I placed these on my 1975 Guild and they definitely enhanced the tone. My Guild has been with me for over 30 years and is still my favorite guitar and the D'Andrea Tone Pins have brought a crispness and clarity to an already excellent sounding guitar.

      Outstanding Improvement!

      By Circio

      from White Marsh, MD

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

I got the abalone ones and put them on my Kona acoustic. Well, the Kona sounded great to begin with, but with these brass endpins, it now sounds like a guitar costing 4x more. I had them in for about 2 months now, and yes, there is an increase clarity in the tones. It's such a small investment for a great improvement in tone. I also had no problem getting them to stay in.

      Good investment.

      By Michael Adkins

Comments about D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pin Set:

These are a great product. They did improve my acoustics tone, however not the degree that some people are writing. But any improvement you can make to your acoustics tone is a worthwhile venture. The improvement in appearance is worth that alone. I got the abalone set. Stunning. Oh, I have an Alvarez AD60SC with no problems what so ever with the fitment. Cosmetic upgrade with a little better tone all for the price of a set of strings......I'd do it again. Hope this helps.
