Comments about D'Addario ProSteels EPS170-5 Regular Light 5-String Bass Strings:

This is the first time I've used stainless steel strings in a few years. The difference in sustain and clarity is amazing (I play a 5-string all-maple Carvin). They are rougher than nickel-plated, but not as rough as other stainless brands (Ernie Ball, etc.) If you use a lubricant like Fast-Fret or mineral oil where your right hand works it shouldn't be a problem. The difference in sound is well worth it.
