This is my favorite speaker. I have a pair in an oversized 2x12" cab and they sound great. Comparing them to other speakers is laughable. Some people like greenbacks better or say another brand can do this sound just as well, but I have yet to find something that compares with a vintage 30. Some people say they are too bright, but I like the articulation.

I replaced the stock speaker in my Carvin Vintage 16 with this and what a difference! Not that the stock unit was bad or anything. It's just the way the Celestion sounds to my ears. It really improved the bottom end while retaining the upper frequency sparkle. The magnet is massive compared to the stock unit and really delivers the 16 watts the amp can dish out. This driver is a winner in my book.

I bought this speaker recently and I put it in an original vintage amp (a Hohner with many many tubes). I replaced the original vintage speaker and I must tell you that this speaker sounds better than the original speaker. If you look closely you can see that Celestion is indeed built after those vintage speakers. Now I get a very warm sound. I play Hendrix stuff and I must say that you can't get authentic sound with normal amps ans normal speakers. That's why I bought the Celestion Vintage 30. Unfortunate nowadays guitar amps don't let you hear the best harmonics of your guitar. All guitars (no matter that they are Gibson, Fender or cheap stuff) sound the same. But a good guitar amp and with a Celestion Vintage 30 you can hear the big differences between guitars.Conclusion - Celestion is the one of the best speakers from the market.

Bought this as a replacement for a stock speaker in a Pignose 60W tube amp. WOW -- the amp went from sweet to a Dynamite Powerhouse. The V30 smokes with great balance and projection. Volume and clarity radically improved. Tone controls on pups now extremely active. You can't go wrong with this choice. Highly recommended for all types of rockin guitar.

I have been using Vintage 30's for about a year and have never received so many compliments on my tone in my 15 years of playing! The Celestions just handle my amp and make it sound good. I use them live and in the studio. The best speakers I have ever owned.
