The Celestion G12H is a reissue of their 12" guitar speaker that was re-released in 1994 for the Celestion 70th anniversary. Loud and proud thanks to its heavy magnet structure, the G12H provides a fusion of the Vintage 30 and the Greenback speaker characteristics, producing a thick, warm and syrupy sound while still retaining a tight and focused bottom end.
When played clean the G12H remains clear and musical without ever sounding harsh. In overdrive, pick attack is vividly articulated with sustained notes trailing off into warm harmonic tones.

I put this speaker in a discontinued all tube marshall 20 watt dsl 201 combo. I just got this amp - it had the stock speaker which was real weak on the low end- no bass at all and harsh, screechy highs. This speaker sounds killer. It has a real nice solid low end. It's got a heavy magnet, so it added some weight to the amp but well worth it! At 30 watts it's a great match for lower powered combos. For live gigs I use a marshall vintage cab with 4 greenbacks, this speaker is just as nice. Now I'm curious to see what they would sound like in my 4x12. Clean or distorted, this is a smooth,solid speaker

After installing this speaker in my Peavey Classic 30 (factory BlueMarvel/Eminence speaker), I noticed a slight boost in volume and bass, and a huge gain in lower mid frequencies. (somewhere around 200-400Hz) HUGE, tight low end. Back off on the Bass knob and the low-mids sing like a Greenback. Nice emphasis on higher overdrive harmonics (classic Celestion grit), but can be tamed with the Treble knob for a smoother tone. This speaker turned my Peavey into a warm Marshall/VoxAC30. Amazing vintage British tone with extra low end.
