The Doctor is In!

Comments about Boss DB-90 Dr. Beat Metronome:

How fun is this? You getcha own DOCTOR to help with your counting woes.
And, he really talks to you. Yup, ya get a real ONE AND TWO AND. Heck, you can even get a ONE EEE AND UH TWO EEE AND UH THREE EEE AND UH. Got some weird music with five beats in a measure? No problem for the doc.
If you don't want to hear the counting with a voice, you can decide on lots of other options. Tick tocks, dings whatever you like. Get the accents where you want them too. It's like having a teacher there to help you out. Instead of losing count, you got your doc keeping you on track every second.
I'd give it a ten except you do have to be a bit techie to get in the groove. And, I would buy the AC adapter so you don't go through too many batteries. You will love this fella, and who wouldn't want their own personal doctor?
Get well soon, courtesy of Dr. Beat.

Fine metronome

By Paul Friedman

from New York, NY

Comments about Boss DB-90 Dr. Beat Metronome:

I bought this as a gray market item. 30 day return, no warranty. The instructions are sparse, eventually you can figure it out. So far I have dropped it a few times and it still works. It has a 1/4 inch line in for a guitar and headphone line out (1/4 and 1/8). so it doubles as a silent metronome, except for ambient sounds of the unmpified guitar and headphone leaks. I use it with a Boss or Tascam A/C adapter. Another line in would have been nice. That way it would have been easy to switch to an aux. source, like a play-a-long track on a computer, and still be silent. I guess you can't have everything, and I am just glad that it keeps on working. Lately I have been amplifying the line out and practicing louder. That works too!

This is currently the best nome you can purchase

By Fox311

from MSP, MN

Comments about Boss DB-90 Dr. Beat Metronome:

This nome is pretty sweet - filled with extra things you won't find in almost any other nome. We use the program feature so we can run between tempos with the stroke of one button. Tap-in function is a must for working with ensembles, as well as the ability to add and drop the inner beats of the click (1, 2, 3, 4 versus, 1&, 2&, 3&, 4&) The drawback is there is no 10-key style entering of tempos, so you have to either have it set before hand, or spin the dial. What's really cool is the fact that you can change the beep to a variety of other variations of pitch and sound, including a voice that says out loud the counting. This is especially useful when you add the other inner beats and the nome says out loud the counting for just about any configuration of rhythms.
