I love Alaska Picks

By Yortman

from Undisclosed

Comments about Alaska Pik Finger Guitar Pick:

When I first tried these on I thought "this is not going to work!" However, after fitting them and trimming my natural fingernails a bit, they would stay on and little by little they started to feel natural. I have now been using these picks for about 3 weeks and I won't play without them. They also force correct hand/wrist position because you need to strike the string with the pick flatly. If you strike the string with the pick at an angle it won't sound right and mistakes will occur. Now, my accuracy is greatly improved and the guitar volume is much better. This is a great product!

No more metal

By Rusty

from Paauilo, Hawaii

Comments about Alaska Pik Finger Guitar Pick:

I tried these Alaska Piks for the first time last week and was very surprised at both how they sound but also how nice they feel. I tried them on both my Martin 000-28VS and on my National Tricone and was very pleased with the warmth of the sound. Metal finger picks produce a great deal of overtones when they strike the string. The plastic produces far less and therefore have a much fuller, less edge sound. They take a bit of getting used to as with any finger picks but the curve is far less steep. I also like the fact fact that you can strum using the backside of the finger. Something that is impossible with conventional picks and the main reason I wanted to try them out.

I like these picks

By Jack

Comments about Alaska Pik Finger Guitar Pick:

I would rather use my fingernails than any finger/thumb picks I've used. My problem however is fingernails break, leaving it impossible to get a consistant sound. These Alaska picks are the closest thing to fingernails I've ever seen. You can file them to the shape you like and since they won't break you will always have the ability to get the sound you want. If you want to play fingerstyle and like using your nails these picks are a godsend. I plan on buying more just to have them on hand.

Decent finger picks

By Clarke

from Burbank, CA

Comments about Alaska Pik Finger Guitar Pick:

I recently began teaching myself fingerstyle, and so began my search for the best finger picks. I read a lot of positive reviews on thee Alaska picks in various musician sites, so I figured I'd try 'em out. What I like best about these Alaska finger picks is how they fit snug beneath your natural finger nail. This gives the player a natural finger nail feel without having to grow them longer than your wife or girlfriends (if your a guy, that is). I liked how they felt as I played, but what happened is they began to snag on the strings. One of them now has a small "ding" on the tip which snags the strings now. So.....These Alaska picks are good... but, in my experience, nickel is the way to go
