I bought a 13" Mastersound hi-hat pair a couple of months ago, and I like them better and better... they have a nice, bright sound to them, and an inner "ping" or sizzle depending on if they're closed or open. The hi-hats sound great half open because of the rippled bottom cymbal, which makes a more seamless sound switching from closed to open. I don't have too much experience in hi-hat sounds because my first hi-hats were a Pearl brand, and I've tried a Zildjian ZXT Titanium pair, both of which I believe are sheet cymbals. The Zildjian Avedis Mastersound hi-hats really encourage you to experiment with them. Very versatile hi-hats, highly recommended.

I received these as a gift and I was amazed from the first time I hit them. A nice, clean chick whether you use them with your foot or stick and a nice washy sound when half way open. I would recommend these to anyone for any style of music.

I didn't know HiHats could sound this good. Sound great at all volume levels, and produce a beautiful sound when kept slightly open and played with a rocky feel. An awesome buy, and would recommend to anyone.

I've been playing drums for a year on Sabian B8 Pros, which aren't bad. I got the 14" regular A Mastersounds, popped them on my set and you wouldn't believe the difference. These cymbals are pricey, but the sheer sound is worth every penny. I used to like Sabian better but not any more. I would recommend this to anyone that has any hopes of getting in a band because these are very precise, but loud cutting and projecting. Don't look at any other cymbal these are the best choice.

The mastersound hi hat's are great. I've been playing them now on the road at shows for about 2 years. The best thing about these hats is the sound you get when you play them open. You really get a nice buildup and they are not the least bit overpowering. They can work with any kind of music, and they are loud enough to hear but not overbearingly loud like the Z customs. If you want an all purpose, well rounded hi hat that can do anything, this is the one for you.
