I've been playing for five years, and this will be my second flute. The first, a student 200 series model, was horrible and was constantly in for repairs. This flute, however, has a sound so clear it's beautiful! The flute is light, and perfectly balanced, and it's a Yamaha, which speaks for itself. This flute is a great investment for middle school age players who think that they will want to continue playing through high school!
Received the YFL574HA today and was amazed how easy it plays with a full tone from the lowest register to the higher registers without any effort! All scales were perfectly in tune and it blows so easily. I recommed this flute to all advanced players who are looking to upgrade to a professional grade without paying the higher prices. What quality-way to go Yamaha!
An excellent flute for the advanced player or professional on a budget. I bought my Yamaha model 574 about a year ago and I'm so happy with it. The 574 model features a sterling head, plated body and foot, offset G w/ split E mech., EC headjoint. I love the tone, very warm and can project even in the dullest of rooms. The high notes speak with very little effort, the notes come out clear with no airy sound. It has a very quick response and articulation. Overall I think this flute is great for high school, college, and perhaps your professional career. A great buy for any flutist!
This is a Really great flute. I tried out a lot of flutes including a Gemeinhardt, and a Sonore made by Powell. The Yamaha 581 beat all of them, even the dealer thought the Yamaha sounded better. Well anyway if your looking for a great professional flute get this one.
I bought this flute to play in the advanced band class at my high school. I have never had 1 problem with this flute and it is one of the best in the Yamaha line. I only recommend this flute for advanced players. It will take you a while to adjust your fingers, but when you get them to work have fun this flute is a great flute! and its better than great especially for the price! remember the value of this flute will go up because the headjoint is sterling silver! and wow what a tone it has! I have been playing for 5 years and I play grade 6 and 7!
