This is my first digital piano, and I must say that it's a huge step up from the dinky little keyboard I was using before. This piano has tons of pro-quality features that make it worth a lot more than what it's priced at. To start off, this instrument has a killer sound. I haven't played around too much with any of the voices besides the normal piano voice, but I can truly say that this thing sounds more like a real piano than any keyboard I've ever heard before. It has a pretty wide range of volume that should suit most situations, but if you don't need too much power I would suggest you buy the YDP-140- it's a little cheaper and has all of the same features, but it doesn't get quite as loud and it's a few pennies cheaper than the YDP-160. Also, this instrument looks very professional. It would be well suited for the home or studio environment and doesn't take up much space nomatter where you put it, so there are a lot of options. The YDP-160 also has key response that is just a small step down from authentic piano hammer action. Most people won't be able to tell the difference between the key response on this and that of a real piano. One last thing: all of the little features on this piano make it well worth your time. from the sliding key cover to the headphone hook underneath to the three realistic pedals on the floor, this instrument can compete with anything else out there, guaranteed! I just can't say enough good about this piano. I encourage anyone who is in the market for a quality keyboard to take a look at the YDP-160 and take it for a spin at your local music store. Trust me, it won't disappoint!
