Yamaha YCL-250 Standard ClarinetThe Yamaha YCL-250 Bb Clarinet offers many features that allow the student clarinetist to start off right. The high impact, resin body of the YCL250 is impervious to temperature and humidity changes and resists cracking. The Yamaha YCL-250 clarinet features key work that is durable enough to withstand the pounding it will get in a school band yet remains smooth and easy to use. The best feature we found of YCL-250, however, is the scale. You will be hard pressed to find a student clarinet that plays better in tune. Complete with case, Yamaha 4C mouthpiece, ligature and cap.

I've owned this clarinet for over 5 years and it was the perfect instrument for me to learn on. One of the best plastic clarinets I've heard.
This horn is a great deal for the type of clarinet this is. It doesn't have that "airy" sound when you play middle notes like E, C-sharp and B-flat. This is truly a deal for parents' pockets.
I am currently 15 and have been playing clarinet for 5 years. I play in a jazz band a wind ensemble. I only started to use a Yamaha clarinet this year and I noticed an immediate improvement in my tone color. It is now much richer, rounder and continues the same tone quality through out every note. I love Yamahas and I strongly advise young jazz musicians to pick one up right now.
I highly reccomend this Clarinet. I'm still playing on this and i'm a sophomore in high school! This Clarinet can sound good in Marching Band, Concert Band, and even an Orchestra. Don't let the plastic or the price fool you. This Clarinet is worth the money. I once compared a Vandoren B45 mouthpiece to the Yamaha mouthpiece on this Clarinet and I found the Yamaha one better! This Clarinet will last you about 4 to 5 years depending on whether or not you're in marching band or how well you take care of it. This is the King of all the plastic Clarinets and the sound and playability is great. From here, I suggest the Buffet E11, but until then, for beginers, THIS IS A MUST!
I am 10 years old and since just a few months ago, wanted to play the clarinet. Now that I have gotten the Yamaha YCL250A,I'm playing really well.
