"Yamaha YBB123 Tuba" by S. Cooper

This Yamaha Tuba is a good value intermediate instrument. As a professional musician with over twenty years experience I recommend the YBB123 for my students who are ready to buy a Tuba. Key items include fairly smooth valves and good balance to the horn.

Right now I play the ybb321 and its kinda beat up but not to bad, it has a good sound overall and its a great tuba to start on, and I'm advancing soon. The valve guide is worn out on the 4th valve.

"Excellent tuba sound for once." by Russell

This tuba is amazing! When I first saw them in our bandroom's brass section room I thought they would not be as good as a Miraphone. I was wrong-this tuba can hold its own against the German wonder. I play a model of this tuba every day even though it has been beaten up and has some dents in the body. It still plays just as well as if it were brand new. I truly recommend the Yamaha YBB-321 to anyone wishing to buy a tuba.

"A good Yamaha tuba" by Eric K

YBB-321 is a very nice tuba. The tuba has a nice sound and good intonation. I like it because its a good decent sized tuba at a fairly good price. Some of the few things that I didn't like was the difficulty of holding it, it would slide off your legs sometimes, I also had a bit of trouble keeping my body at an angle of 90 degrees while sitting even though I'm 6 feet tall, but I eventually found a way to hold it. The tuba has very good valves (even though the 4th valve is a bit smaller than the other 3) and plays very well, but again like all Yamaha's I've played. The 2nd valve tuning slide is usually full of water after play, but none the less. This is a nice intermediate module. But make sure you've got room, the case is a bit big, but its nothing compared to a Jupiter 582 case. if your getting a full tuba and you don't have a lot of room, but a gigbag, its not the best idea for protection but it'll help you save a bit of room.

"Perfect High School horn" by tubalord

I've played on this horn through high school and I would recommend this to anyone in high school. I would not take this horn to any solo contests due to the intermediate sound you receive. However, this is perfect for wind ensemble. It can easily cover the band and its low notes are awesome. Not to mention, it has a very open high register too. This would be the suitable horn for your high school concert band.
