"it was an ok tuba if you were just beginning" by mhstubaplayer

I started playing tuba in the 6th grade. I first started on a King tuba and then swtched to this Yamaha. It was okay for the first couple of years, but then I developed greater air power than the tuba would allow, so I had to adjust my air supply through every song. Overall the tuba is a good playing tuba but it needs to be kept for beginners only.

I am using this tuba and I really enjoy it. I am all about the Low Brass and this tuba is awesome. The sound is awesome, and mine converts into Marching style which I hold on my left shoulder. I feel this is a great starter tuba, but I feel is a little small. I am a freshman and a big guy. I prefer the sousaphone when marching, but we don't have a marching band. I suggest this to any student who is looking for a great sound and flexibility. It is also great for a pep-band type where a sousaphone wouldn't be necessary!

I am in the 7th grade and I am using this tuba. It has a nice sound and is really deep. I've been playing for two years and I am starting to out grow it.
