First I hooked it up to a pair of computer loudspeakers, I couldn't believe it was me playing! What?!! did I just do that? Let's try again, ah! a mistake, so this is me after all. The salesman warned me: the sound is crystal clear, faults as crystal clear as well. Unbelievable, I play in a concert hall in my little room. The bottom line: this violin is better than my old acoustic violin. That is a fact and playing it at 2 am in my hotel room is my sweet revenge. Maybe I should take it to the office as well. I connected an output to an electronic tuning device. I can see the notes pitch as I play. Talk about a feedback! In fact I couldn't play the violin any other way. Next thing is take my jeep off road and play in the wilderness using my car audio. Scary.

"I love it!" by David

I have the silent violin and love it! I have always been disappointed I couldn't spend more time working on music without driving the family nuts. I tried mutes, which were awful, and many other ideas to play quietly, none really cut it, until I got the silent violin. The Yamaha instruments are a bit toy-like with all the plastic, but it sounds great. I use it with a Marshall guitar amp and it is really fun to play, probably because I practice more!

"Cool, reliable, and versatile!" by Millicent

Overall: This is a very durable violin. And the fact that it looks excessively cool is just a nice perk. I barely have to tune it at all, it stays in tune so well. It is easy to clean. Versatility: The onboard amp makes it possible to play without having an amp (headphones work fine). Also there are so many options with a digital hook-up (so you might not need an amp at all). The line out allows you to connect to almost anything with a speaker and auxiliary jack. It's awesome to hook up to home theatre systems (playing in surround sound is quite entertaining) and lots of smaller stereo systems have aux. audio jacks as well. Most auxiliary jacks on systems have the red and yellow/white inputs (for left and right speakers generally) but the converters are really cheap. Also really nice to be able to hook up to a computer and record sound as .WAV files without background noise. I've had this violin for a year and a half and haven't had any misgivings about purchasing it. I'd say this is the perfect violin for a hobbyist who wants to be jacked-in.

"Buy the Sverige 120 SVGreat stuff!" by J

Just bought the Yamaha SV120K Concert Silent ViolinBought this violin a year ago, and have never been disappointed, both for personal, recording, and live gigging use! It's looks are stunning (I have the black finish) and it is sure not to disappoint! It does have a couple of downsides, however, mainly the fact that you have to use its own shoulder rest. (which I found a bit uncomfortable) I would recommend this violin to anyone interested in investing in an excellent electric violin.

"new silent violin " by Viktoria

Just got the sv-120 today, I find it great for silent practice. It is slightly on the heavy side, and it lacks the naturalistic, warm sound an acoustic makes; overall good. Got it in Australia so the price for it here is $1549.00 dollars retail. The sv-120 does produce in my opinion a different sound to an acoustic, which I would have to favor, but it adds a brilliant touch of modern technique and sound.
