Yamaha SB39 Silent Brass System for French Horn
The redesigned Silent Brass module is smaller than a cassette tape and weighs about as much. It fits easily into a shirt pocket and can be attached to the player's belt, if desired. This makes the new Silent Brass systems much more portable and convenient

Improved sound
The sound from this "next generation" system has been greatly improved over the previous generation. The hiss has been greatly reduced, allowing players to hear more of their sound and less noise.

Simplified controls and sleeker look
The new module has only a volume knob and an echo switch, eliminating the unneeded extra features and making it even more affordable.

Aux In jack
One of the things carried over from the previous generation is the Aux In jack. This jack allows an external sound source to be combined with the signal coming from the mute or microphone. The player can then play along with their favorite song in practice and performance settings and put the fun back in their practice sessions.

Input jack
The input jack allows a quick and easy connection to a Yamaha pickup mute for practice or to a Yamaha MC-7 instrument mic for performance.

Output/phones jack
The Output/phones jack allows the Silent Brass system to be connected to earphones for private practice, an external sound system for sound reproduction, or to a recording system for recording.

"Great Product A MUST Have"

This is a great product. It is nearly silent. It is now possible to play when people are sleeping in the next room. The earphones work great. With them on, it sounds almost like you are playing without the mute. A couple of times now I have had to take out the earphones to check if the mute was in. It sounds that good. There is hardly any resistance. It feels as thought you are playing normally. Only when you play a D (A concert) it makes a slight vibrating sound. This is not a big deal, but I guess it proves that no product is perfect. However this product is as close to perfect as possible in my opinion. I don't believe that there is a product out there which can surpass this.

Imagine a mute that allows you to play forte while your family sleeps in the next room, and this is a dream, so your sound remains pitch true and you can hear yourself at full volume so that your aren't overblowing. It's pricey but this is your dream mute. I live in a townhouse community and have light sleeping family members but this mute means that I can now practice anytime, literally. The only word of advice I give, is that a player does still need to play unmuted at times to be able to develop their hand work as well as just to be able to hear their sound filling a room. If you play at school great, that's really all you need, use this at home!
