These are the cans I grab when I really want to hear the subtle nuances of the music. They make everything sound great. Very good for all kinds of applications, especially for simply enjoying music. As for music production, they may be a little too sweet for final mixing and mastering.

Pretty straight forward pair of headphones, the audio sounds great at all different levels, especially the bass. (some may argue that it's a bit much, but I like it) One problem that I have with it is that it's really easy for them to slide off while playing.

I've been in the studio business for eoghteen years and have been using Yamaha RH-5Ma headphones for most of thise years. Musicians like them (so much so that sets occasionally disappear if I'm not careful), they're light on the head, and do a good job of supressing ambient sound from other musicians in the studio. You just don't have to spend $100 or more per headphone to have a good sounding cue system. Do other headphones sounds better? I'm sure there are many that do, but these Yamaha's give you an honest representatio of what you're getting recorded.
