Why Buy

The MSR400 is a bi-amplified 2-way system, featuring 400 watts maximum burst power that drives the 12" cone woofer and 1.75" V.C. compression driver. Frequency division is accomplished prior to the power amplifiers via a line-level electronic crossover. This eliminates the problems with loss, distortion, and phase that are virtually unavoidable in conventional passive crossover networks.
  • Biamplified, 2-way system
  • 400W maximum burst power
  • 12" cone woofer

  • Line-level electronic crossover eliminates loss, distortion, phase
  • Accepts any source from mics to line-level gear
  • 3 parallel connections

Yamaha MSR400 Powered Speaker Cabinet
The Yamaha MSR400 Powered Speaker is a biamplified, 2-way system featuring 400W maximum burst power driving a 12" cone woofer and 1-3/4" voice coil compression driver. Frequency division is accomplished prior to the amplifiers via a line-level electronic crossover, eliminating problems with loss, distortion, and phase. Power is optimally assigned to the low- and high-frequency units for smooth, natural balance across the spectrum. The Yamaha speaker accepts nominal input levels from -36dB to +4dB, meaning you can connect any source from microphones to pro line-level gear directly. 3 parallel connections are provided--2 XLR-type connectors and one balanced phone jack--which can be used either as inputs or parallel outputs.

The Yamaha MSR400 speaker cab has input level control for matching with the source signal, low and high EQ controls, and a sleek appearance round out the great features of this speaker cab. Stackable, flyable, and polemountable.

Don't forget the bottom end! The MSR800W powered subwoofer (sold separately) is the perfect companion to this active PA speaker!

I have had my system ( 2 msr400's and Yamaha mixing desk ) for 3 months. I use the system regularly for gigging and I usually put 2 mics, a Boss Jamstation and a guitar pod into it. The sound and response of the system has been fantastic for my uses, so easy to control on stage, and to regulate for the size of a room, without loss of quality at low volume.

These cabs are well worth the money. Our band compared them against Mackie speakers (we have a Mackie mixing board) and liked the Yamahas better for the sound quality and low end. For most members of the band this is the first gigging band they are in so the Yamaha's ease of use is very welcome. We have played in small halls, sports bars, and an outdoor functions and these cabs are MORE than capable. We run at least 3 mics through the cabs as well as my guitar through a multi-effect processor and the sound just resonates!! The sound of an acoustic guitar fed straight to the cabs (via the PA of course) is beautiful, clean and clear.

These speakers are great. They're loud enough for most gigs I do, in which I often use them in conjunction with Yamaha's SW500 active bass bins. They woudl have got a 5 star rating but beware of these speakers they can be fragile, expecially the front grilles. My pair of cabs knocked together and caved one of the speaker grilles, I had to remove the grille and bash it out. First time out of the box as well.Don't be scared these are well worth the money.
