I'm not sure if this is a neck-thru bass, because the 4 string model isn't. Speaking on the behalf of the 4-string model, this bass is killer. I'm currently playing on a 5-string Corvette Standard, and I'm looking for another bass to complete my bass collection. The local music stores don't carry the 5-string version of this model, but because of the sound that the 4-string model has to offer, I would buy it without giving it any thought. You can buy a cheaper bass, but to get a really good sound out of it, you will need to get 4x10s and a good head, but if you are not in the music business, and you live in an apartment like me, all you need is a good combo, and this bass.
