Vox V848 Clyde McCoy Wah PedalClyde McCoy Wah Pedal
The original made the sound of a muted trumpet, so Vox recruited trumpeter Clyde McCoy as an endorser. The reissue version is true to the original in most details, including the tone-critical part—a custom-tuned inductor made by the original manufacturer. It also has some modern enhancements such as a true bypass switch, a newly-designed custom-taper potentiometer, and an AC adapter jack.

I picked this wah up while back and was blown away by it's awesome sound. It can only be described as that wide sweeping wah you hear on the late 70's early 80's car chase scenes in the shaft movies. It's sound is amazing and perfect for funk, jazz, blues, and that hot rod sound. It is build like a tank and is a must have item! NO SERIOUS MUSICIAN should be with out this.
I play in the UKs premier Hendrix tribute, and as such the old wah gets used quite a bit. I have used Fulltone deluxe and the standard Fulltone, still didn't feel right. Then a Teese wah! Next a Budda Budwah, nice but didn't like the travel of the pedal. But Hey! wait a minute Vox had re-issued the famous Clyde Mc Coy. Well its a nice wah, but still a little harsh on the top end, but very useable for a lot of styles, What annoyed me the most was the intermittent on off switch...it kept cutting out, even when I adjusted it so when I stamped on it, it clicked! Instead of "did it click or not" I have now had to purchase a new switch, when installed I may sell it. My advice leave it alone if you are gonna play live, unreliable!
