Vox Pathfinder 15R Guitar Combo Amp
Vox Pathfinder Amplifier

Compact, Affordable Package
With the classic good looks of its big brothers, the new 15-Watt Vox Pathfinder combo packs a profusion of Vox style and sound into a compact, portable and affordable package. Like other Vox amps, the Pathfinder is covered in Vox basket-weave vinyl and Vox diamond grill cloth, and it uses pointer knobs for indication of control settings.

Practice or Performance - This Amp Can Handle It!
The Pathfinder's 15 Watts of power are housed in a cabinet of significant size, providing you with a truly substantial amp for practice or performance. The top panel of the Pathfinder is maroon just like many vintage Vox combos. It features Volume, Gain, Treble, Bass, Tremolo Depth controls as well as a Gain Boost switch and headphone output. Plus, the Pathfinder offers foot switchable control over the Boost and Tremolo functions with the optional VFS2 Vox dual footswitch for even more performance power.

More Tone and Power Than the Competi
The Pathfinder's 15 Watts of power drives a specially voiced 8" Vox Blue Bulldog speaker, which delivers more tone and power than you will find in many other practice amplifiers.

"Incredible VOX tone"

This is the 'new and improved' 15 watt VOX Pathfinder now with spring reverb (finally!). The 'clean' tones are bright and chimey. Tweek the Volume and Gain controls to produce terrific, vintage tube-driven overdrive tones. This thing can bark too. Volume is surprisingly loud. The adjustable reverb adds great echo/depth, and the tremolo is terrific if you enjoy that type of effect. (It fun to use occasionally, especially for Nirvana 'Come As You Are') If you're looking for that great vintage VOX sparkly chime and crunchy, but not brutal, overdrive, this is about the best sounding small solid-state amp out there for under $200. Try one out, let your own ears be the judge. This might be the perfect small practice amp you are looking for. lr** Jan 04,2003

I was looking for a small amp that would be good for practice and recording at home. But it still had to produce the tones that give us inspiration. A good amp can take you into new territory as a writer.I have a 6 month old son and it's not right to be fulfilling my life long ambition and own a Fender custom shop amp. Not yet anyway.I purchased the Vox Pathfinder 15R and am overwhelmed with it's character and tone. The clean sounds are gorgeous. Tweak the Gain and Volume knobs and you are in pure sixties overdrive heaven. The tremolo and reverb effects are very useful as are the out options. You can plug this into an external speaker cabinet. Recording equipment likes this model. You can capture the Pathfinder's voice on any good recorder. I plugged my Vox into my 10 track's line input and just gave it some, the recordings are really ALIVE. I just cannot believe this amp came at such a small price. If it had been priced at รบ500 the sound would be attractive! This amp could become a classic, it just needs to feature on a big record. And hey, VOX are selling a lot of these.

"more power than advertised....."

Hooked my new little 15-watt VOX into a Peavey Stereo Chorus 400 cabinet with 2x12" just for the fun of it as the Peavey brain was fried (so what else is new?). Could not, repeat...could not believe the power and clarity that came out of the VOX. So, if you have a Peavey amp sitting around that is brain dead (many are), hook up the VOX 9168R Pathfinder and it will blow the dust from those Peavey speakers!

I bought this Amplifier after two months of searching for something useful in terms of sound and yet playable in the flat with tons of old angry neighbors. I have searched among some pretty known stuff like Fenders, Marshals, Behringers, Peaveys and huge number of Chinese some-or-no-namers at category 10-25W with reverb or digital delay (which I hate), this little thing is best non valve amp I ever heard and way better then anything else in his category, if you need good clean or slightly overdriven sound it`s a master, has maybe little less good reverb unit then Fender frontman 25R but much better and warmer basic tone. I do not like it with heavy distortion or overdrive, but I don't like anything with big overdrive and especially with distortion. Great for blues, rock, some modern guitar+sequencer+synth+drum machine+percussion+bunch of jazzers playing something lets say jazz, very versatile.MUCH LOUDER THEN EXPECTED FROM 15W also!

Just wanted something smaller to haul around in the travel trailer for late night camp fire gatherings. My vintage Baldwin Piggie Back, with it's 15X12 inch speaker cabinet just didn't fit this scene. I wanted the same sound features as my Baldwin, like tremolo and reverb, but in a smaller size. Though the reverb isn't as pronounced as my Baldwin's it's still very good. The tremolo is great! Gain and boost are unreal. I must remember not to mess with these two controls during late night camping hours. Oh my, what the critters in the woods would say. If you're looking for a great sounding and powerful little amp at an unreal low price this baby fits the bill. Give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I going to plug this Vox into my Baldwin's speaker cabinet some day. I know she'll crank.
